Wood Apple Milk (Wood Apple Juice)

Wood apple is a fruit native to Sri Lanka. Although it may be found in any supermarket or even a weekly wet market, this is a fruit that grows well in the country's dry zone. So I'm happy to share the Wood Apple Milk recipe with you.

Wood apples, often known as elephant apples or monkey fruit, are a fascinating fruit. They resemble a potato or a little melon, but with a harder shell. The shell isn't nearly as hard as a coconut shell, but it's closer to one than anything else. You can get the pulp within once it's been opened. When they're open, you can smell the intoxicating aroma of wood apple. It has a little vinegary fermented finish. The pulp is typically scraped off and processed into juice, which is the method I've supplied in the video. It's a simple process.

The resulting juice smells delicious and tastes sweet from the sugar. I think it's a great way to chill down on a hot day. To give it a creamier texture and to round out the tastes, I suggest adding coconut milk. But you can make it with or without coconut milk, but iced is my favorite!

If you can find wood apples in your area, I highly recommend trying this recipe.

Love you All!
