Today, grandma and daughter will make ceylon olive pickle, which is a delightful and spiced pickle with the flavors of tamarind, chili, black pepper, salt and sugar.
This high nutritional value fruit can be incorporated into our diet in a variety of ways. You can use either raw or ripe ceylon olive fruit, and this video demonstrates how to make boiled pickles from ripe ceylon olives.
In a saucepan of water, boil the washed ceylon olives for 10 minutes, then drain and set aside. Then, using a spoon, crush the boiled ceylon olives. Mix in the chili powder, black pepper powder, salt powder, and sugar until it forms a paste. Finally, add the boiled Ceylon olives to the paste and cook for about two minutes, or until it comes to a boil.
We hope you have fun cooking with Grandma and daughter.
Love you All!
